Budgie sleeping bags

Postby noemz » Mon 22 Feb, 2010 5:10 pm

I had my house fumigated today. (Lots of ants moved in because of the heavy rain.)

I took my budgies to my lovely neighbour's house for the day. I have two boy budgies, and she has two girl budgies. They sang and fluffed their feathers at each other until we popped our heads around the corner, then they'd pretend they were just preening themselves.

The neighbour's seven year old girl was excited when she learned that my budgies were staying overnight. I told her that I had to nip back home and get the budgies' sleeping bags.

I had her fooled for a full five seconds.

Oh, so cute :D .

But how do you know what the budgies did while you were not looking?

Well, you'd sneak around the corner and look at them before they noticed you were looking. They'd notice you in a second or two, so you didn't have long to peek. ;)

Ah, so no big-brother-like budgie-surveillance system 8) .

I used to have a budgie, too, when I was a kid. A blue one. His name was Bubi. He never learned to speak, while my cousins' budgie, Nucki, spoke quite a lot. Do yours speak?

I've tried teaching them to speak, but instead they've taught me Budgie.

I taught them to whistle. Just one whistle. I think.
