Gone. It irks me. Recently my email account has been getting little bits of spam, and I'm wondering how I ended up on a spam list. "But doctor, I've been so CAREFUL..."

Some of them don't post. They sign up for an account and put their spam site in their profile. I happily deleted an account the other day.

Spamming assholes. *shakes fist*

Much as I hate to suggest such a thing is it worth switching to only members allowed to post?

Ahh but that way lies madness. You would need ways of preventing automated signup and all that other annoying stuff.

It's low-level spam, and easily destroyed. I like allowing guest postings, because a lot of people are simply too shy to actually sign up.

And anyway, you had to go and reply to the spam so now there's a conversation here and this thread called "colostric" is here to stay.

And the thread is in "Bonus Cartoons" so I'm starting to feel obliged to add a cartoon here to that theme. And I'm not even sure what 'colostric' means, and I'm not looking it up. Mainly because I kinda know what it means.

Aw, you just missed the spam attack. I had fun banning the IP address. The first spam appeared just under the announcement about deleting users and spam posts. I thought he was being cheeky, but I suspect it was just the most recent post in each category that got blitzed.

All gone now. Just as well. You probably woulda replied to them.
